Port of Stockton to take over managing the Marine Highway project | Business

Savage Companies, the Salt Lake City –based firm hired to manage the M-580 Marine Highway corridor between Stockton and Oakland, is abandoning the project, leaving the Port of Stockton to run the operation, according to the Port’s deputy director.

“Due to a number of circumstances, we were doing some review with them and decided it would be in the best interests of everybody if the Port of Stockton took a greater leadership role in the oversight and management of the project, to which they agreed,” said Deputy Port Director of Trade and Operations Mark Tollini.
