Register for the 8th annual Run and Walk Against Hunger | Community Spirit
The 8th annual Run and Walk Against Hunger, Thanksgiving morning, November 22 is expected to draw 4,000 participants to the Stockton Ports Baseball Park, Fremont and Lincoln Streets in downtown Stockton.
The 5K (3.1 mile) Run and Walk and 10K (6.2 mile) Run, both beginning at 8:30 AM, follow a scenic route on both sides of the Stockton Deepwater Channel - flat, scenic and fast. Awards will be presented to runners for the top three places in each age group (12 and under, 13 to 18, 19 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79 and 80 and over, and to the top male and female first-place winners). Kids (9 and under) have their own ¼ Mile Run, starting at 8:00 AM – kids can get photos taken with the Ports’ Splash and Stockton Thunder’s Thor mascots!
The course starts and finishes at the Stockton Ports Baseball Park and takes in the downtown Stockton waterfront, the new City Sports Arena, Children’s Museum, the new City Marina and other points of interest. A Family Festival with info booths from nutrition and fitness agencies takes place from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
Entry fee for the Run/Walk is $35 if postmarked by November 12, $40 after that date through day of event; each runner will receive a colorful Run t-shirt. For the 1/4 mile Kids Run (9 and under), fee is only $10 through Nov. 12 ($15 after, to race day), and includes the t-shirt.
