SPYA Annual Officer Matthew Smith Toy Drive Project

The Stockton Police Youth Activities is currently accepting donations of toys, clothes, etc., for our Annual Christmas Day Delivery to children and families who have been victims of violent crime during 2012.

The SPYA has teamed up with Arroyo’s Café and the San Joaquin County Victim / Witness Program to assist these families who are in need and to bring them some holiday spirit.

Any donation can be dropped off at Arroyo’s Café (2381 W. March Lane) or by calling the SPYA at (209) 937-8209.

Two women and an outstanding organization were honored on Nov. 15 at the 26th Annual Stockton Athena Awards luncheon.

Phyllis Grupe, described as a "community advocate, faith -based leader .... who has made a difference in the lives of countless women by support of many non-profits in San Joaquin County", USA was given the Athena Award fro 2012.

Donate your time to volunteer at our Thanksgiving Meal Program.

On Thanksgiving Day, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We prepare our facilities to serve about 800 people in Stockton with a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

You can also help by making monetary donations, donating turkeys, bringing your friends/clubs to sing, play music, help with set up, serving and cleaning.

The City of Ripon to host Hospice of San Joaquin’s  Tree of Lights for the first time in 2012

The 2012 holiday season will kick-off as hundreds of families will join together to light-up the Hospice of San Joaquin’s Trees of Lights throughout San Joaquin County.  “This year we are happy to announce Hospice of San Joaquin and the City of Ripon have partnered to establish a Tree of Lights at the jewel city of the State of California,” noted Gene Acevedo, Community Outreach Director Hospice of San Joaquin, “Hospice of San Joaquin has been serving the Ripon community for 22-years.  We are honored to contribute to the traditions enjoyed by Ripon’s Citizens.  Lighting the Tree of Lights will become an annual ritual that announces to opening of Ripon’s holiday season.”

“Tree of Lights offers our community an opportunity to memorialize a loved one no longer with us, or to honor a that person who holds a special place in your heart,” explained Stephen Guasco, Hospice of San Joaquin’s Chief Executive Officer.
