Palm Desert in the Spring | Community

If you love the combo of mountains and desert, Palm Desert is a great place to be for a Spring getaway (Summer, not so sure).  Stunning scenery and climbing opportunities are available just to the south of town.  The rugged mountains there are loaded with trails that take you well above the desert floor.  Also managed to spend a little bit of time (and money) on one of those very large green patches known as a golf course.  That setting was just as beautiful, even if my performance wasn't (I guess with desert surrounding the region, there's no problem finding LOTS of sand to decorate courses).  Figured it would be a rough outing when my very first shot, a drive on the 1st hole, went way right of a narrow fairway and was never to be found.
