Over 600 San Joaquin County students participated in the 27th annual San Joaquin County Office of Education Science Olympiad Competition for Division B (middle school) and Division C (high school) at the University of the Pacific Saturday, March 2. The awards ceremony immediately followed at Blanchard Gym at San Joaquin Delta College. Nineteen Division B teams and 22 Division C teams from across the county participated in 23 events in this one-day competition. Medals and plaques were awarded to top scoring teams.

Spring Festival of Bands

The Delta College Spring Festival of Bands will take place in the Atherton Auditorium on Wednesday March 6, 2013 at 7 p.m. Bring your family to a night of good music and good times! General admission tickets are $8/adult, $5/student and senior, and children 12 and under are free!

On Thursday, Feb. 28 there will be a one-day only, student-created art show in Upper Danner Hall from 9 am to 2 pm. Please encourage your students to participate or attend (see below). Art in all genres is welcome, framed or unframed!

Simone Mingua, a "graduate" of the FIPSE created Multimedia English 1A class, created this project as her midterm last semester. She believes, "Students need more opportunities to show their art work and to receive critical responses from their peers." Simone booked Danner Hall, made the display boards, and put out the call to artists on social media with the flyer below. She will run the entire event for students.
