The Black Suffrage Movement
A lecture by Dr. James Taylor on community, state, and federal efforts to systematically prevent African Americans from voting through persecution and oppressive laws including: poll taxes, literacy tests, voter ID cards, and segregation. Dr. Taylor is an Associate Professor and the Chair of the Politics Department at the University of San Francisco. This event is free and open to the public.
