STOCKTON, Calif. - A man on the U.S. Marshal's "Top 10 Most Wanted" list as a suspect in a Stockton homicide dating back to 2011, was located and arrested in Hayward on Thursday.

Vernal Shaw, 19, was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Rickey Maggard in the area of W. 8th Street an Port Trinity Cir. On Sept. 28, 2011.

The U.S. Marshal's office credited an anonymous tip for the location and apprehension of Shaw.

Shaw was transported and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.

The arrest was the second capture of an individual on the Marshal's "Top 10 Most Wanted" list in Stockton. Alejandro Ruvalcaba, also wanted in connection with a shooting, was arrested on Wednesday after a standoff in Stockton.
