Murder suspects in Stockton stabbing death arraigned | Crime
STOCKTON, CA - Three men accused of a stabbing death outside a Stockton nightclub were arraigned Tuesday afternoon in downtown Stockton.
Djuane Nunley, Dorjan Daniels and Marcus McCliman are charged with murder, attempted murder and gang activity, after a incident outside Chitiva's nightclub, in the Waterfront Warehouse building.
The mother of victim John Joseph was one of dozens of friends and family members in the courtroom to watch the arraignment.
"This was unnecessary and didn't have to happen," Lynette Lewis said. "I just want to say to those guys in there; they gonna get theirs. I just want justice to be served."
Stockton police said two of the three suspects were from Southern California, while the third was from the Sacramento area. Spokesman Pete Smith said at least one of the suspects was a documented gang member.
Smith also said, and family members stressed, that Joseph was not involved in a Stockton gang.
Bail for the three suspects was set at $5 million each.
