STOCKTON, CA - Two individuals were in critical condition at local hospitals after a drive-by shooting in south Stockton Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.
Stockton police and an ambulance were sent to the 600 block of Anderson Streets in a residential neighborhood at 2:37 p.m. for a report of a shooting.
One of the young men shot was not expected to survive, a police statement said.
The shootings may be gang-related, according to preliminary information police have learned.
The Stockton Police Department encouraged citizens to call if they have information pertaining to the shooting. Callers were asked to call the Investigations Division at (209) 937-8323 or Crime Stoppers at (209) 946-0600. Callers can remain anonymous.
Citizens may also text information from their cellphones to 'CRIMES' (274637) and type the keyword TIPSPD and then their tip or log-on to the Stockton Police Department's Facebook page and click ''Submit A Tip''.
Information that may lead to an arrest could earn the tipsters a cash reward of up to $1,000 from Crime Stoppers.
