11:30 am 6th Grade Super Quiz (public welcome)

WHERE: 7th and 8th grade competition held at East Union High School
1700 North Union Road, Manteca
6th grade competition held at Manteca High School
450 E. Yosemite Ave, Manteca
WHO: Students, parents, community members
WHY: The Academic Pentathlon provides a less restrictive environment for student learning where
individual leadership, cooperation, and peer support are incorporated
into the program as motivators. Teamwork is the heart of the Academic Pentathlon.
AWARDS: Both individual medals and team awards are given out:
Alternate medals = first-third in five events
Starter medals = first-fifth in four events per category
Super Quiz = first-third plaques and team medals
Ten Top Overall Scorers = $50 Gift Card Barnes and Noble
Overall winning team by division = first-third in A and B divisions
Winning Overall Teams = first-third
HIGHLIGHTS: Super Quiz topics this year:
6th grade: Paleolithic Era to the Agricultural Revolution
7th grade: Expansion and Disintegration of the Roman Empire
8th grade: US Foreign Policy in the Early Republic
