BREAKING NEWS: News10 reports that the NBA Board of Governors has voted down the relocation of the Kings to Seattle. The vote was 22 to 8.

News10 covered the press conference in Dallas this afternoon on-air and online.

Commissioner David Stern stated at the press conference that he will help to faciliate the transferring of the ownership of the Maloofs to the Sacramento Group with Vivek Ranadivé in the next 24 to 48 hours.

The Armchair Traveler Program meets in the Spring and Fall semesters on Tuesday afternoons from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. in one of the Forums. Students may attend as many programs as they wish for one $14 enrollment fee.

The Armchair Traveler Program is presented in the spring and fall semesters. Presenters share the highlights of trips they have taken, focusing on the history, culture, and customs of the people of different countries. Presentations are shown on a large screen in tiered auditorium seating (handicap accessible). Students may attend as many programs as they wish for one $14 enrollment fee.

The Stockton Thunder, a two-time recipient of the ECHL “Award of Excellence,” announced that mobile and downloadable versions of the team’s 2012-13 regular season schedule are now available for desktop and most handheld devices.

Ideal for users looking to instantly access the Thunder schedule and preview upcoming games while on the go, at work or at home, the schedule is available for downloading in iCalendar (.ics) format and can be implemented in Microsoft Outlook 2007 or later (Windows), Apple iCal (Mac) and Google Calendar subscriptions.

Once downloaded, users can also enjoy instant access to the Thunder schedule synchronized to a handful of popular mobile devices, including iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry and more.

209 Cheer and Dance to Host “Dance for Destiny” Clinic & UOP Women’s Basketball Halftime Performance

The volunteers at 209 Cheer and Dance are hosting a special one-day, two-part event on Saturday, February 9, 2013, for 100 youth participants, ages 5-14.  The cost is $35.00 per participant and entries are accepted on a first come, first serve basis.  Each participant will attend a 4-hour dance clinic at 4203 Coronado Avenue, Suite 1, Stockton, California from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to learn a halftime routine.  They will meet at the Alex G. Spanos Center in Stockton, California from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to perform at the UOP Women’s Basketball vs. UC Santa Barbara halftime.  Participants must attend both the clinic and the game.  Each participant will be provided with a performance T-shirt, a hair bow, and free entry into the game.  The registration deadline is Wednesday, January 16, 2013.  To request a registration packet, please email 209cheeranddance@gmail.com.

209 Cheer and Dance Supports Relay for Life - Team Life is Pretty

209 Cheer and Dance is a proud supporter of Relay for Life – Team Life is Pretty.  Alina “Pretty” Mendoza is a Stockton resident who has overcome her battle with cancer not once, but TWICE!  She was diagnosed with ependymoma (a brain tumor over 7 ½ inches in size) on November 16, 2004, when she was only 2 ½ years old. She went into remission in October 2005. On September 28, 2007, she stopped breathing in her mother’s arms. It was discovered that she had a 6 centimeter mass blocking her airway, and she was subsequently diagnosed with lymphoblastic lymphoma (a blood cancer). She went into remission in November 2010.
