Thunder tied for first place in Pacific Division, Reichard earns first career shutout

STOCKTON, Calif. – Goaltender Cody Reichard (5-1-1), just one day after putting on his best performance of the season, upped the bar even higher by stopping all 38 shots he faced and posting the first shutout of his professional career Wednesday night. The Stockton Thunder (13-5-3, 29 points) needed all of his stops, as they pulled out a 1-0 victory at home over the Las Vegas Wranglers at Stockton Arena.

In a wild Silicon Valley Bowl shoot-out at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, the Delta College Mustangs scored 63 points against the DeAnza Dons, eking out a narrow 63-56 victory over the 5th ranked NorCal Conference co-champion.

This is the second game in a row the Mustangs (8-3) have scored 63 points against DeAnza (8-3) in a bowl game. Last year, they routed an injury riddled Dons team 63-13 in Togo’s Delta Bowl, played at Delta’s DeRicco Stadium. This year, DeAnza’s high powered offense had all its star players ready to rumble, relishing a chance for revenge.  Key among those was the NorCal Conference offensive player of the year, quarterback Josh McCain.

18 year old rookie Jessica Clark headed into rounds 19 and 20 of the Star Grand American Modifieds last Saturday night at Stockton 99 Speedway with determination. The Ron Sutton's Winner's Circle development driver claimed her first ever Modified victory at the season championship finale.

This is Clark’s fourth year in the Ron Sutton's Winner's Circle program, which develops drivers for a career in motorsports after an extensive application and tryout process. Clark joined the program in 2009 where she started racing in the USAC Focus Midget Series.  In 2011 Jessica pulled double duty. She became the first female to collect two USAC championships and got her toes wet in full sized stock cars, running the S2 Limited Late Models at Irwindale Speedway.
